This play is being presented as part of the National School of Drama’s graduate showcase, which aims to provide a platform to emerging theatre practitioners, while allowing them to share their work with a wide audience.
Objects provide an important method of communication in theatre. This performance is a marriage between imagery, mime and body movement while using day-to.day objects intended to create a new tool of communication for theatre artists. Through this process a performer learns to place his or her focus on the material they are working with. All objects have energy, their own story to tell. Therefore, actors find this process interesting and learn a different way of handling objects while working. Mime is used in some scenes because it helps to balance the presence and absence of the object. The idea behind the scene is also communicated through the performer’s body.
