This play is being presented as part of the National School of Drama’s graduate showcase, which aims to provide a platform to emerging theatre practitioners, while allowing them to share their work with a wide audience. While interviewing prompters with theatre exponents of Maharashtra, the director found that caste marginilization between Dalits and Brahmins still exists in company theatres. Taking the figure of the prompter, he raises questions on the socio-political scenario. Moreover, the prompter has become the vehicle through which we can look at caste hierarchy and politics in the company theatre system. |
