LADY MACBETH REVISITED
AT A GLANCE THE PLAY CAST AND CREDITS
Bahumukh, 2.30 & 6 pm, Fri, 22 Jan
English and Hindi, 60 minutes
Script & Direction: Maya Krishna Rao
A witch-like woman playfully re-creates the Lady Macbeth of Shakespeare, and becomes her. But a witch is a witch and belongs not to a palace. A witch is not a conspirator, not a murderer. So, at the end of a long journey, she must either ‘rub herself’ out of existence or re-find herself in another form ----
The production swings from the comic to the tragic, much like the way witches do. A live camera on stage plays Lady M's exciting 'co actor'. Some scenes of the play have been recreated, but with a difference. It is the spirit, not the character, that has any resemblance to the original.
